In Oaxaca we offer one-day excursions to Monte Alban, Hierve el Agua, “el Tule” tree, Mezcal distilleries, and beautiful churches and convents.

There are plenty of sites to check out once in Oaxaca that the school may organize for you. These trips can be paid for once in Oaxaca.

• Monte Albán: A large pre-Columbian center and archeological site that houses a museum providing a detailed look into the Zapotecan culture.

• The Tule Tree: This tree is considered the widest tree in the world with a circumference of 36 meters and is over 2,000 years old.

• Hierve el Agua: A beautiful waterfall that cascades over a mountain and offers an amazing view. You can spend the day enjoying the view and swimming in the natural pools fed by the falls. There are cabins available for those who wish to spend the night.

• Puerto Escondido: Along the Pacific coast, this town was established in 1928 for the shipment of coffee. Many surfing enthusiasts flock to the sea-side town to ride the waves of the surfing break known as Playa Zicatela.
