We have learned from experience that cultural activities have an extremely positive influence on students’ intellectual involvement in the acquisition of a foreign language. It is for this reason that we recommend taking part in everything the city has to offer:

• Barva, Arenal, and Poás Volcanoes: Three of the many volcanoes found in this geologically active country that provide for stunning vistas and hikes.

• Braulio Carrillo National Park: This extensive national park of over 44,099 hectares encompasses seven diverse habitats. Here dwells the Quetzal, Costa Rica’s national bird.

• Río Sarapíqui: Binoculars and a camera are all that you need as our local guide points out more than 25 species of birds while cruising down the crystal clear waters of the Sarapíqui river.

The school organizes excursions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and the weekends. Cultural activities take place in the library 2-3 times per week and once a month there is a "cultural week" with special events.
